Thanks for the feedback Steffi. My son, Chris is playing the guitar and Hannah on the fiddle is my wife's niece. She is a very talented young lady. Chris and Hannah play together in the Blue Mosquitoes which also includes Hannah's brother, Stuart. Chris, my other son, Alastair and I are playing together at the Cygnet Folk Festival in January http://www.cygnetfolkfestival.org/

Thanks Tristan, I am really enjoying writing songs. Chris and I just won an award for one we wrote together called the Irish Pier. The Blue Mosquitoes now play this and are looking forward to being able to play it in Ireland next year.
Cheers,
David

David, this was fantastic! Your family is very talented. The guitar rhythms are great and I just read your comment that Hannah improvised on the fiddle that night...Wow. Congratulations on a wonderful song.

And I downloaded it too. :-))
I really like everything in it and, as a (not that good) amateur musician and a former music critic, I am really impressed by your niece's impro.
My second daughter plays the violin, she likes folk music and "the irish way" almost as much as pop music, and I hope she can perform like this one day.

Gerard, Thanks for your kind remarks about 'The Old Cracked Fiddle'. My son Alastair came up with the chords for the verse, I wrote the melody chorus and lyrics, my son Christopher altered the tempo and their cousin, Hannah improvised on fiddle on the night. I am glad you enjoyed listening to my first attempt at song-writing.
