I made this song to increase the Tweants youth's awareness of the beauty of our language, which is currently in a threatened state due to the fact that Standard Dutch is the prestige language in the Netherlands. Therefore many Tweants parents choose to teach their children Standard Dutch instead of love for their mother tongue.
The song is simple and the message is clear. It shows our down to earth way of looking at the world, and dusts off the folkloristic (oldfashioned) image of the language, since it's done in a new style that uses "something old, something new..."
If you want to know anything, don't be afraid to ask! I'm very keen to make us known in the world. For example, did you know that the English last name Tucker most probably comes from my region? We're all still called Tukkers.
