Hello Siusan & Zig. I was wondering if you were going to play at the Louisville Irish Festival this weekend, 9-25 thru 9-27? I hope to see you there!

Hey, that is a great idea. Unfortunately, living this close to Mexico, there are not many trad players.....well there are, but not Irish. My father's family came from Ireland, Ulster Scots in the mid 1700s. I have been to Scotland twice, but would love to go to Ireland. I think it is fascinating that you can actually go back to a residence where your people live.

Thanks for being my first friends over here. if your curious about my face or act just google photos of columbus tuba busker north market or comfest . people have shot my face all over the web and I was clueless about it till lately. the one on youtube of "Xmas chestnuts" is awful. I look drunk early in the morning(nothing wrong with that my !st G.I. dad was a sailor) and had no idea how dangerous people with cameras could be to my career. still its funny how i found it by accident searching for Irish Xmas music. I crapped and my jaw dropped wide open like the voice teacher has always been trying to get it open. Im swamped with rehearsal preparation till tuesday night when I will be back to chat. Doing Beethoven 9 from memory for the 1st time. Panic. Concert is mid October and Im behind schedule. Like your tunes folks. cheers

Yep... that's me. My brother Greg & his family live near my wife & I here in the Appleton, Wisconsin area. We moved here in the late 70's when we were made an offer to move our music store here. We continued to return to Michigan to play until the late 80's, when my brother-in-law, Mike Jahncke & his wife, Janet, moved to Saudi Arabia to work for the State Dept. They came back for annual visits for several years & we did selected gigs each year in Chicago, Milwaukee, & some festivals. Ironically, Mike just visited here from where they've been living in Europe in June... & we played @ an Irish Pub here in Wisconsin... for the 1st time in 18 years! I get back to Saginaw regularly to visit family, in fact will be there Sept 22-24 to play in an annual golf outing. Maybe we can hook up some time when I'm in town.

Sorry about the SB, just a short abreviation for South Bend. Fiddler's Hearth is quite the pub, after a great evening when you walk out you feel like you should be in Ireland. They do have a great web site, give it a try.

Love traditional irish music, my wife and I go to Fiddler's Hearth in South Bend In. frequently to get our music fix. A musician by the name of Jeff Ward often performs there and is a favorite of ours. On your travels to Chicago you should give SB a try.
