...and I am thankful for your friendship! I will look forward to many interesting LiveIreland cyber-chats in the New Year with you. Enjoy this touching poem by Patrick Kavanagh, "A Christmas Childhood"...one of my favorites. http://www.irishcultureandcustoms.com/Poetry/PatKavanagh.html
I'll take you home again Kathleen, Thank you for the holiday wishes. I wish a magical Christmas for you and yours. I am hoping that you get your wish for snow on December 25th. I have been wrapping presents and hanging by the wood stove here. The season has started off really well, so far.
I am thankful for a lot of things. I am thankful for you, Kathleen. The very best during this hope-filled season.
'tis the season of Yule and I am popping in to wish you and yours a fun-filled and merry Christmas! So what's up with you this month? I have asked Santa to bring snow down here in the South for just one day: December 25th! ; )
Hey, Michael...just dropping before I immerse myself into fauxing the kitchen cabinets...been an ongoing project for 2 weeks....picking away at it.
Yes, I am aware of the filming location of "The Last of the Mochicans". Most of the cast stayed at the Haywood Park Hotel? (not sure) downtown Asheville, NC and they were all the rage with locals celebrity 'spotting' and plenty of autograph hounds, too. I agree with you on Daniel-Day Lewis on his performance in "There Will Be Blood"....just amazing...what a gritty and dark story, too.
We are holding a Halloween Masquerade Soiree at our home on the 31st...I will be an Elven Queen with pointed ears and all (think Lord of the Rings type Elven). I'll try to get some photos of it posted on here if they turn out well. Do you celebrate Halloween in any kind of special way? I just love the holiday...gives everyone a chance to go full fantasy for a night! I understand the streets of New York are like Halloween every night..ha ha.
I just love this weather..I know it must be gorgeous there in PA. I just love getting out walking in the leaves especially after a good rain....get high on that 'wet earthy smell'!
I am an incurable Bohemian at heart ; ). We've already had a few fires in the fireplace and soon at the party we'll have a big one out in the backyard fire sanctuary...think marshmallows and Smores. Perhaps we'll share a few ghost stories around the fire, too....ah, so Americana, yes?
Take care of yourself and have a gorgeous weekend....awaaay I go.
Hey, you are back! Thanks for dropping in. Yes, Fall is here and it is wonderful....built a nice fire inside the other night, wrote some Irish prose, burned some peat while sipping wine in a candlelit room. (And...of course, listened to some great Irish music to boot!) Ahhh, it was lovely. The peat actually was a clod of peat given to me from a friend who had returned from the british isles so I broke it up in wee little pieces and use it like incense. The smell of it brings me back to Ireland everytime. I remember one evening we were walking about Sligo town in the evening; it was drizzling and the heavy aroma of peat burning was everywhere. Nice.
And I am curious to know: what is the story behind your profile picture? Is that you? Or?
Have a fun Halloween, by the way, and continue to drop in from time to time! Welcome the vigorous embrace of Fall...
Yank, yes..life is full here also. Summer alway brings fond memories of childhood...never fails. The cicadas sing to me every night and I dig that lovely concerto they so uniquely project forth to my hungry ears. Sweet lullably. Sending good thoughts and tidings to you and yours...I go forth to spend three wonderful days with my 3 month old granddaughter, Sofia.

Yank, are you okay? I haven't heard from you in some time. Everything down South is hot and the rain clouds have decided to go elsewhere....sigh. I hope you are well....drop a line when you can. Take care.
Yep, the Maypole pix are up on this site...enjoy! It was a weather perfect day...absolutely unbelievably dreamy. Hope you are fully recovering from whatever it was that kept you pre-occupied for awhile.
All peace and good things to you and your family and furry ones. Will send a more lengthy message very soon....busy week. Stay in touch....'til later...slante'!
Hello! Sorry I haven't dropped in for awhile...was busy becoming a new grandmother....welcome, Sofia Ari on April 7th! Preparing to dance the Maypole here at our home tomorrow evening...always celebrate every year! Will post some photos when I get the chance. Anything new going on in your world?
The conference sounds really interesting, I am working on improving my boundaries with people. What is it that you do that gets to a conference like that?
I just love these pix...what are the names of the two gorgeous dogs? AND is that you in picture no. 1431?
Haha....thanks for the St. Pat's happy wishes....yes, I know these online pages can be confusing and I have the done the same thing myself so join the club. Have a great week ahead....looks like fabulous weather. Stay in touch. Slante
