No, not a citizen of Denmark, I would have had to apply for citizenship before I was 21, and I discovered that at age 22 :( Thanks for reading my story!
He loved Germany, it was only the fact he had to sit with a much older crowd that night at the party. It was in a barn in small villiage in Fulda and he surrounded by people over 40 and the only other kids there were all under 10 yrs. old. If anything the wee bugger was spoiled, he got a trip from Jersey to Ireland, Amsterdam then a road trip down the Rhein to Frankfurt then onto Fulda. By the way, you have some great photo's on your page.
Jim, thanks for the comment that was my son behind me at my german friend's 50th birthday party. I dragged him over to Germany for the party and he felt abit lost with all my german friends.
jeez I am so late in returning my mail!! no, haven't made it yet unfortunately..life gets in the way, but still planning on it as soon as humanly possible!!! will keep you informed!!
Happy Holidays to you and yours!:)
Hey Jim. I'm not going to be making it to Sturgis this summer. I may be going to Vegas or Laughlin in the fall. The FDNY photos are from my brother's house. He was in Times Square but has since transferred to the Bronx. My father retired out of Engine 10 on Liberty Street, across from the Trade Centers.
I was 67 when i bought a run down cottage on a half acre in Ireland...and i have spent 5 summers fixing it up for a retirement home...i have been retired for 12 years but my wife has a couple more years before she can retire...of course in 2002 the dollar was even with a EURO...and i bought the property for less than 40,000 euro. it seemes alot to me then but similar property would cost about 80,000 Euro today ( if you could find it ) and about 120,000 in US dollars..
check out my brief videos if you like to see what i did...my point is that i NEVER expected to retire to Ireland...and nevver expectd to be rebuilding a 259 year old irish cottage at my age....but you never know....bob leonard
