I just missed you by few minutes (or were there hours?) in the chatroom...
So I thought I'd directly ask you :
How are you?
Still alive, and well... and musician..? I really hope so..!
Up here, things are a little bit tougher... but hey... I try to reach the fiddle and get it out of the case (as well as the bow.!) as often as I can..!
Anyhow, hope you're still enjoy yourself... Take care!
Martin! Wow, it's been awhile. For some reason you have not been receiving a few of my messages way back...I guess it was a fluke in the workings of cyberspace. Anyway, I hope you get this one. I so appreciate your keeping up with me. It's really slow going on here. Do you have a Facebook page? I love Facebook so much...I have friends all over the world now. Let me know if you do have a page and we'll connect there, too. I highly recommend it if you haven't. Love the format! You can share videos, photos, thoughts...anything of interest instantly with all of your FB friends. However, I am not leaving LIveIreland because I love my friends here, too. : )))
Summer weather has arrived here, but still not too bad. Windows are open, birds are singing and the night skies are beautiful. Slept out under the stars and the Moon the other night....me and the three cats...what a treat!
Hope everything's going well with your 'girl'...was happy to hear about it. You are at the age where the girls continue to 'come out of the woodwork'......remember to always appreciate that, because later on............ ; )
Went through all things in my photography journal on our Ireland trip all the way back in 2005....ready to go again. Those memories are as fresh today as they were then...amazing how those kinds of journeys remain fresh in one's mind. Perhaps one day.....I'm wanting to travel to Italy to visit some new FB friends and just to experience the country....fascinating land and people.
Take care of yourself, Martin, and continue to stay in touch.
Yep. I noted that we share some passions as well as views on how to behave in chat rooms and forums. As for the latter, I have been a moderator and admin for a large forum concerning my profession for about a decade, so I have seen all sorts, and find your outlook commendable..
My visits here will probably be a bit irregular too, but I will be here once in a while.
Martin,
Yes, we were in Dublin just over a year ago. We had a fantastic week. Davy Byrnes was our first meal in Dublin. A soup and panini with a couple of pints of Guinness. Wicklow was amazing. That tour and a trip on the DART to Howth were the only times we left Dublin. The Wicklow tour really encourages us to return and see the rest of the country.

Bedankt voor je reactie, ik luister via winamp maar ik kan LiveIreland 2 niet gevonden krijgen. LI 1 is alleen maar folk af en toe moet het wel wet ruiger. Weet jij de oplossing?
Ha ha ha...this is getting to be quite funny! Actually, I found a lot of hummpa bands especially your band on www.youtube.com...they are all lumped in together so I'm not sure which one is more recent than the other. Go onto www.youtube.com and tell which ones are more recent maybe? Anyway, I laughed so hard...you guys have wonderful music...there's just gotta be something like this in the good ol' USA. I think I will do some research...do you know of any groups at all that are promoting this kind of music here? Oh, and I love the wild wig!!
You've got to look up the Spike Jones band....the hummpa bands have that kind of unexpected, zany feel in the music. Spike Jones' music from way back is still a classic and very famous for its craziness of sound. He used slide whistles, cow bells, gunshots, etc. for sound effects...was also a serious musician putting out great stuff in his day, but he was quite famous on TV with his crazy, zany band..they were wonderful. Look his music up on iTunes.com and other music websites to hear some of his songs. Here's a wikipedia write up on him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_Jones.
Hey Martin...welcome to My Page here at Live Ireland. I just watched that wild video of your band and your sound is wonderfully zany and rollicking...how original!! There is nothing like your band here in the USA south...guess the Dutch know how to do things well when it comes to original band sound...congratulations. Stay in touch and continue to celebrate LIFE which you appear to be doing very well!
