Hi Tim, I'm new to this site. I also am very interested in pulling up roots and moving to Ireland; I'm so disgusted with the USA and how it's been run. Federal Government retiree. I'm still trying to decide whether or not to move to Ireland. It is sad what has happened to this country and the illegals who are in this country, breaking the laws of this country. Well, sorry to go on but I have so many issues and I don't believe they will be answered any other way then moving out.

Aha! Now it's much clearer. I'm from Inishere which is the smallest and loveliest of the Aran Islands. It seems that you travelled to Inis Mór, the largest of the islands.

I don't know the gentleman in question but just this past summer I saw a group of local kids playing music on the way up to Dún Aengus.

That's wonderful. You never know we might have bumped into each other. My family owns a craft shop there and if you popped in it was probably me behind the counter!

yea brendan white makes lovely drums indeed. as far as athas goes we have a few steady gigs but the time of year does def play a role in our other gigs. we had a good number of weddings over the summer and fall but those have slowed up and now it's mostly just pub and dance gigs. hope all is well!

Hi Tim! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! That's actually a Paul McAuley bodhran in the pic there; although lately I've been playing my Mike Quinlan (maker in Chicago) which is a pretty sweet drum as well! :)

Cold! We had our first little bit of snow. Monday it was 74. We were kind of spoiled with all the warm weather. What's the weather like there?
