Thanks for your comment about Down Longford Way. Sorry for the delay in responding but I have been away for a few days. I am glad you liked the video. Bec is a friend of my son. I will have to get some new video of them playing with the Tasmanian Heritage Fiddle Ensemble.

Thanks for the comments on the photos. It is not easy to get the kids to play with me (particularly now they are quickly shooting past me in ability). Generally we play together at charity events which the kids are happy to do. Chris and I have also been writing songs together. I guess that the fact that I used to sing to them while rocking them to sleep each night when they were babies may have helped with music being something we do together. It does wax and wane a bit though, depending on their age. My 14 year old is into heavy rock at the moment and playing with his Dad is not on the top of his list of priorities. The good thing is that you share a love of music with your kids and I am sure there will be a time when they are happy to play with you.

Most of the music on my page is my son's band, apart from The Old Cracked Fiddle, which I sing on. My wife's neice and nephew are also in Daideo and the Blue Mosquitoes. My other three children also play instruments so the house is always filled with music. I did a lot of music when I was younger and am just rediscovering my interest through some song writing with my son. I also have a few Irish related original songs that I am working on and hoping to perform myself soon. It would be wonderful to one day visit your part of the world and join in a session.

Checked out the folk club website and left a comment in the guest book. I am a former primary teacher who is now teaching English and Social Studies in a high school. History is my main teaching passion and I was in a history curiculum position until the recent recesssion. What do you teach?

Do you play an instrument or just like to listen to the music? I play very basic guitar but love to sing. My children are fast overtaking me in musical ability and it is wonderful to see my 17 year old being passionate about celtic folk.

Hopefully one day we may get to join in a session at your folk club. The trouble is that Tasmania is so far away and air fares are so expensive. We are going to Ireland and England next year with the possibility of a stop over in the USA but will have to make another trip to visit your part of the world.
