I had friends from Michigan and they had the cutest accents! I'm a sucker for accents. Southern, Youper, etc.

It's not so far from you, really. You could visit first and find your favorite place. Northern California is different than Southern California. Not better, not worse, just different. And, contrary to popular belief, we're mostly pretty down-to-earth people.

I think the biggest shock for folks that move out here is the different kinds of food. You name it, we have it: tons of Vietnamese, Thai, Indian, Afghan, Mediterranean, Ethiopian... it's all here!

So today, for instance: the skies are blue, the air is clean, and there's a very slight breeze, it's about 70 degrees outside, and and and and it's just perfect!

Los Angeles proper can be a bit daunting, but this state is so big and there are so many other places to live. Just imagine any kind of climate - deserts? We have them. Beautiful mountains? The Sierras. Beaches? World-famous! Rolling hills? They're dotted with ancient oaks and turn from green to golden brown. It's a beautiful place, to be sure. The folks here are pretty amazing, too. Considering there's about 30 million Californians, we get along pretty well. And with a beautiful smile like yours, California is your oyster!

Ah, Sunny CA. This place is so strange. My personal opinion is that California should be its own country. Our national symbol would be the Surfin' Bird, our national pastime would be commuting, and our anthem would be whatever song was last sung on American Idol. Instead of "President" so-and-so, we'd have "Dude." Between Stanford, UC Berkeley, USC, UCLA, UC Davis, PolyTech, etc., we've got higher education wrapped up. Got Silicon Valley. The Central Valley produces more... produce than anywhere else. Shoot, we'd be all set. Ever consider plying your trade here? You'd be welcomed with open arms!

I used to write a lot - lyrics, sotries, etc. Got pretty bored with all of that so I started writing scenes and characters. I think those formative years watching MTV ruined my attention span, so now I'm relegated to writing short interactions between characters. It's fun, though, and it's a great way to keep my brain alive. I spend way too much time writing case briefs and legal essays and the like, all of which is really analytical and critical. A man's got to have some sort of creative release, right? So I write. I also play guitar, but only in the privacy of a locked room. Terrible stage fright, see.

How's everything in Grand Rapids?

Just saying hi! Hope you are well. I am so happy, we paid off our trip today and are heading to England, Scotland, Wales & Ireland in June!

Hi! The weather has been so odd lately. It starts and ends in a chily or even cold manner, but the afternoons have been delightful--very crisp and clear. Shame I missed most of the really nice weather due to school and work--finals hell is almost run its course-thank GOD! If given my choice, I would really rather be in Eire, even in the rain! I hope it is mostly clear when my daughter, sister and I go overseas this sumer. My boss is great--let me take 2 years vacation this year since my daughter and sister are graduating school (one form college and one from high school), sio we are heading to England, Scotland and wales and Ireland for a month! I just canot wait--this is kind of a test too, since I want to move and teach there to see if my daughter likes it--I have four kids, but this one has soem social issues and needs more time to adjust than the other three. Stay in touch. Oh yes--what's the deal withthe book--it has my attention.

Welcome, you don't play anything musically or sing, do you? I love your favorite place, I am often accused of going there too much. Well talk to you later, I'm still in school.
