Must of just missed you by a few minutes tonight.
Jim and I are busy with the yard right now also...planting, maintaining the gardens. Trying to grow a giant pumpkin this year, we won the supplies to get going on it. Also trying to build a small running fall/stream into a small pond. Lots of debate on how to do it, need a few more boulders to get going on it.
Did go to Yosemite and hiked this weekend for my b-day...was thunderstorms...but temps were prefect. Saw bear, Dogwood, wildflowers and a view of the valley floor.
Hoping to make it to NY to see grandchildren and thinking about Canada again...loved it!
School District is STILL trying to figure out their budget and where to cut...I'm in a safe position in my job...but there will be changes. How is the economy there?
Well will hook up with you later...will keep trying. Jim says hi. How is Laurie?
Good to hear from you.
Me I'm home sick today with the cold/flu something thing...I'm sure a gift from one of my students. School is keeping me busy and hopping. So your son is off and traveling...how fun! To be young and explore life. Jim and I are still trying to figure out what we will do this summer...with the economy and all. Our governor is saying he will slash our salaries by 6% and there will be some lay offs this year...we won't know until May I'm sure. Jim and I did go our east of here Sunday to see the hotsprings and was fun and beautiful in the winter landscape of Nevada. Keep in touch and tell Laurie Hi...hugs to both of you. Pat
Is your son graduating...with the pictures? Cute with the 2 girls kissing him. The picture with the snow around the house...was that snow from this year? We are busy with son and family this week...took granddaughter to snow for the 1st time she can remember and loved it....was upset when we left. Tell Laurie hi and I keep showing off her scarf...of course all love it. Take care.
Pat and Jim
In France, we are used to meet with family and friends, have a midnight party & stay up until 00:00. Then all everybody kiss each other under a bough of mistletoe. Is it the same in Illinois ?
Which are your new year traditions ?
