I will post some pics this week of the mando. I love mine too....the tone is a bit high on it...I have a fender as well that has a lower tone...so I love them both depending on the songs.
Yes, you've struck it rich here with our connection. My husband, Davis Horner, and I started a celtic band locally back in the mid 90's (Kilmoulis Celtic Band ..named after an Irish Brownie!) and then transitioned into another band named Selkie Celtic Band. So far Selkie has produced two CD's and performed in the Southeast...amazingly talented band. I was lead singer, bodhran player, keyboard for quite a few years and then dropped out. You can find Selkie at: http://www.myspace.com/selkiecelticband and you may listen to some of their songs there. Take note of "Wynde in the Riggin" as the band member, David Boles, plays the whistle and Davis plays the Bodran...excellent piece! Selkie performed as the opening band for "the Battlefield Band" at the Handlebar last March. Maybe you were there? WE do have an amazingly talented Mandolin player friend, Joel McConnell, right here in Greenville. His band is called "Skeezits" and they also perform at various celtic oriented events in the Upstate. He also joins Selkie for some performances. I will get in touch with Joel and check in with him to get an okay for you to connect with him. Can you give me your phone number or email?...send it via email to me here on LiveIreland...more private that way. Also, David Boles, I just know would love to talk with you about the whistle. Also, a more detailed look at Selkie is here (keep in mind that they have two other musicians who join them for larger concerts, etc. occasionally):
