It's wednesday 30-12-2009, 17.05 P.M. (Irish time: 16.06 P.M.)
I've just heard your beautiful voice singing "Farewell to Tarwathie" and "Andy's gone" here at Liveireland. (I've tried to combine my tin-whistle sound with the instrumental intermezzo in the last song - it really had something). Thanks so much for these special joyful moments listening to you and the way your songs move my heart.
And now - while this year's running to be part of the past and we are standing on the treshold of a new year to come - I like to wish you all the best, love, happiness, good fortune and of course lots of good Irish music!
Because you wrote your accountname as: Eils... I'm not quite sure if it really had to be: Eilis, and if so… Are you really THE Eilis Kennedy whose songs like "Farewell to Tarwathie" and "Boots of Spanish leather" frequently can be heard here on liveireland?
I saw the website of John Benny's Pub and the program where your name was on the list and reading your profile-topic "About me: I like to sing" it seems to me: you really must be Eilis Kennedy.
So I really like to thank you for those beautiful songs I've heard and enjoyed!
Especially Farewell to Tarwathie, for that song contains special personal memories from the happiest time of my life some 38 years ago. (I was a 14 years old lad). It was one of the first folksongs that captured my heart and soul and made me conscious of the Celtic roots that lived in me!
With the introduction of the cd replacing the old conventional black records I haven't heard this song for certainly 14 years.... so it really was a very emotional heartwarming moment when I did hear your beautiful voice singing this particular song!
There are no words with which I can thank you enough!!!!
But I'm very glad to have the opportunity to tell you this and say thanks for what you have given me!!!!
I hope to hear from you!
