Some Recent Celtic Music Squidoo Lenses

I've been pretty busy over at Squidoo.com in the past few months. I now have 35 lenses (web pages) on Celtic music, plus 15 Celtic music video showcases. The video showcase number has fallen recently as I've decided to incorporate some of the videos into the lenses themselves.

I made a lens for Celtic Christmas music by individual artists or groups and another one for Celtic Christmas music compilations. Working on the first one led me to create a lens for Bonnie Rideout, a Scottish-American fiddler. I no sooner had that done than I got an email from Maggie Sansone, a hammered dulcimer player and founder of the label Maggie's Music, which is the one Bonnie records for. She was interested in finding out if Squidoo might be a good place to promote the label. I wrote back encouraging her to give it a shot.

I also got a Twitter tweet from another lensmaster who wondered if I had a lens for Dougie MacLean. I didn't when she tweeted me on Wednesday night, but as of last night, Thursday, I do. Both Loreena McKennitt and Enya have seasonal CDs that are new this year, so I updated their lenses to include them. And before all that activity, I'd created a lens for Scottish musician Julie Fowlis.

Here's some links to those lenses:

Celtic Music: Christmas
Celtic Music: Christmas Compilations
Celtic Music: Bonnie Rideout
Celtic Music: Dougie MacLean
Celtic Music: Loreena McKennitt
Celtic Music: Enya
Celtic Music: Julie Fowlis
Celtic Music: Lenses

Since I'm also an Amazon.co.uk Associate, my lenses have links to the CDs there so those of you on the East side of the pond can order CDs through my lenses. (It doesn't cost you anything to go to Amazon through my links, and I make a small commission when you do.)

Listening to LiveIreland.com has given me a much broader knowledge of Irish music, and that's what led me to decide to build all those Celtic Music lenses. I'm not making much money doing it, more like enough to do laundry, but along with the listening, building the lenses has given me new appreciation for the performers and their music.
