Fil Campbell's Old Songs and Memories
A Nostalgic Night of Irish Songs from the 30s, 40s and 50s
Old Songs and Memories
is the follow up to Songbirds in which Fil performed many of the songs from the TV show of the same name, songs that were first made popular by singers like Delia Murphy, Mary O'Hara and Bridie Gallagher and songs that were part of the soundscape of Ireland in the first half of the 20th century.
The songs from this show are included on Fil's new CD which is due for release later this Spring.
This show is perfect for:
themed festival events
"Campbell's voice is eminently suited to old gems like Love's Old Sweet Song and The Homes of Donegal" (Evening Herald)
Including songs like
Let Him Go, Let Him Tarry,
Down By the Green Bushes,
The Spinning Wheel
I Know My Love,
My Lagan Love
and many other well known and well loved favourites for your audiences to sing along with
If I Were A Blackbird,
The Homes of Donegal
Goodbye Mick, Goodbye Pat
Audiences around Ireland have a great night's fun singing and reminiscing with these songs.
It is a show to reminisce to, for people to bring back memories of their childhood or of their parents and grandparents, and most of all it is a show to laugh to and to throw back your head and have a good old sing.
