Long time Michigan resident, Siusan O'Rourke was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Her father's parents, both Irish immigrants and her mother's family, English immigrants by way of Barbados, she was mentored musically at a very young age by her uncle and grandfather. Siusan is regarded in the Irish Music Community as one of the finest contemporary Irish singers of today.
Siusan's love for the traditional is shadowed only by her strong desire to write and perform her own diverse collection of songs, many written in the Irish tradition for their faithful Irish following and many written for the Americana roots audiences that have so warmly greeted them across the United States.
Zig Zeitler, a native of the Saginaw Bay, Michigan area, has performed, taught students and managed his own recording studio for over 30 years. He is regarded by many as an incredibly talented multi-instrumentalist in a variety of styles including celtic, folk, blues, cajun and zydeco.
Together, Siusan and Zig founded The White Crow Conservatory in Saginaw, Michigan. Siusan was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago and the duo has contributed much of their time, performances and proceeds from their discs to cancer research and hospice organizations.
O'Rourke and Zeitler have performed all over the United States, Ireland and Puerto Rico. They have warmed up Festival Stages in New York, Boston and Jackson Mississippi for such Irish icons as The Makems and Spains, Aoife Clancy and Liz Carroll.
Their live performances are highlighted with story and wit connecting them to their audiences on a level that is rarely experienced.
