I live on acreage on a mountain top with nature all around me. I love seeing the wildlife and feeling close to nature. I saved an owl caught on a fence once, I was very nervous in case it pannicked and scratched me,but it was too dazed to any way.I watched till it got away. After that for a long time that owl would fly over me as I drove past that spot. A lot of our animals have perished in those bush fires in Victoria ,but there have been many beautiful stories and videos on the survivors also.
That is two of the survivors taking comfort in each other at a wildlife refuge.
Your photos and thoughts are very beautiful.

I agree with Mysstree -- thanks for your thoughtful and inspiring words. If only more humans would tread softly!

My husband and I live in the central United States where we have four distinct natural seasons. Right now, there is a sugar maple tree outside our bedroom windows that positively glows it is so radiant in its autumn hues. I've been especially grateful the past couple of nights -- the temperature has been moderate enough to have the windows open. So I can hear the rustle of the leaves as I sleep and as I waken.

Those are thoughtful words you have written about your love and respect for nature,and wouldn't it be nice if more people truly appreciated the wonders this planet has to offer?
Here where I live in the northwestern United states I am surrounded by evergreen landscapes,majestic mountains,rocky ocean beaches,wildlife ,lakes,rivers and other waterways abound here in the beautiful state of Washington.I am grateful to live in such a place.
