California Fires

I have lived here since 1982 and these fires have been some of the worst ones to date. It's so tragic to see people losing everything they have in minutes. I have a friend that is in a fire area and I can't get in touch with him to see if his house is safe.
We get so busy with life and wrapped up in many things, but it's in times like this were we push aside those things to focus on what's important. Pray for the the families that have lost there homes and the firefighters that are still out there fighting.

I wasn't watching the news lately or reading the newspaper, so much going on with health problems hubby and the kids suffer from right now. Then I heard about the fires on another list I'm on. I have some friends living in that area - one wasn't online since Oct. 22nd - I so hope she's fine... I keep them all in my prayers.
I don't think I can imagine how bad it must be. I guess it'll take a long time to rebuild what was destroyed...
I had the great pleasure to visit California three times, 1994, 1998 and 2000. I liked it there, a lot. And I would love to come back to see my friends...

Comment by Kim on October 25, 2007 at 20:45: I grew up in Encinitas in Southern California. I would agree that this is one of the worst I can remember. Brother is still in Encinitas, can't get ahold of him, hope to hear from him soon. Keeping all those in my prayers.
