Irish Internet Radio and TV from Dublin, Ireland.

So - To Ireland I went.

I tried to catch a Leprechaun, or a cute Irish man, but ended up catching a cold instead!
I guess I didn't really try hard enough for the man, but to my defence I was distracted by other things...like Butlers Chocolate stores!!! Oh my word, their mochas are the best (especially if you ask for marshmellows on top) and they give you a lovely little piece of chocolate just for ordering something!
It was a whorlwind trip, and except for the cold I had a great time!
I'll try to get some pictures up soon :-)

Must admit that the south-west to mid-west coast side was our favorite areas. You are in Alaska which is big (my Nevada is big to travel at times too) so remember while you travel there it doesn't take as long to get to places...you can see alot and enjoy. Hope the experience is a good one for you...was for us.

Comment by Sandy on March 28, 2008 at 16:34: Thanks All of you!! I checked out Paddywagon and they look like they are a lot of fun!! I almost wish I could replan my trip! But we have already booked hostels and sadly don't have money or time for one or two day trips outside of our normal schedule...I am however going to see how much hassle it is to cancel and reschedule hostels, might be good to go with them in some of the larger areas.
Dingle and Connemara (thanks O'Carrolls and Gregory) have been tentitively added to our day excursion list and we will be staying in Tralee for a few days :-)

Achill is on our list of places to go, but I will see if we can add a day trip out to the Aran Islands..that's a good idea, I have heard they are beautiful.

Comment by Felicia on March 27, 2008 at 16:46: If you have limited time but a decent budget, consider the day jaunts to Achill, Aran and other local areas from Galway. A friend of mine did that whiel studying in NUI and recommended it for my trip--but like I said, my trip turned into something altogether different than I had planned. I do not know if you are a student, but having a student card--check online for them, can save you lots of money and they often can craft a self designed tour for oyu--meaning you pick what you want to see, your budget and they find hostels for oyuo and help with travel, cars, train or whatever, but you are not locked into some huge bus or something. I would highly recommend that type of deal, because you are protected differently than going alone--check backpacker type self designed deals online. Slan

Sadly we don't have time to hit up Northern Ireland as we would like to spend more then a day in most of the places we are going. I hope to next time tho. Thanks for the advide on Giant's Causeway, Donegal and Belfast!!

Comment by Felicia on March 27, 2008 at 14:55: I agree with Claudia--My daughter, sister and I atre taking a mnth overseas and one unit of a three tour spread broke off. Paddywagon was exceptionally great about getting right back to us and we will definitely utilize their services in the future. For this trip though, the masses outvoted me and we are making our way through England, Scotland, Wales & Ireland. PAddywagon strictly has the most cost effective and best rates in Irwland though!
If you go to Galway, plan a few days. They have a great pub district and fun shops if oyu like that, but more importantly, you ca take day trips using it as your center for very cheap, because NUI is right there. If you haven't bee North, do not rule it out--the Giant's Causeway, Donegal and Belfast are amazing. I have been three time with school, and so looking forward to this year in June, because we get to include more of the North too--often overlooked, but amazing!
Dublin is like New York in many ways--if you want a city visit but less the city feel, go to Cork or Galway and try to take in Limerick (not the city-it is not all that big a deal, but maybe Adare, recorded for its beauty and hospitality). Have fun!!!!

You'll find them online or in tourist office in Dublin City. Tours with them are simply funny.
I've been in Ireland twice (2005 and 2006) for 4 weeks each leading a group of 40 people. And we booked all the tours with them and never got a problem. Maybe they can also help you with finding hidden places :)
