That's a prosperous and happy New Year to you all! May all your changes be for the best.
That's my wish this year because I see many changes coming in my own life. #2 Son, the one who used to help me with the Wake Tent, joined the Air National Guard just before Christmas and will be shipping out for training soon. He'll spend six months in Texas (Sheppard AFB) and possibly more, depending where he interns after the training. He'll be an EMT (emergency medical technician or paramedic) when he finishes. For those not familiar with the Air National Guard, it's part of the Air Force and no, he most likely won't be deployed to Iraq. His girlfriend is also in the Guard. Mostly they serve one weekend a month but are prepared to go wherever and whenever called. We're very proud of him, but he'll be the first to leave the nest. Even when he returns, he'll probably get an apartment and go back to college (tuition paid, one of the reasons he joined).
#1 Daughter will graduate from high school and go away to college this year as well. it will be in-state, only two hours or so away, but that will be a major change. It leaves us with #1 Son (still in college and living here, but considering an apartment with some of his friends) and #2 Daughter (she'll be a junior in high school next fall). It's going to be a LOT quieter around here! And maybe I can get some things done...
All the best to all of us!
