I was up at the Loughcrew Cairns this summer solstice - what an amazing place. 5,000 year old mounds built to celebrate/commemorate who knows what? They haven't lost any of their majesty despite the toll of the millennia.
A perfect blue sky at 9pm turned into a cloth of gold and purple with a dusting of tiny clouds for effect. Standing there I could see all the way to Fermanagh across Lough Sheelin which was shining like a golden pond in the evening…
