You come to me in my dream---and I can feel your warmth.
I feel your arms around me -- and I breath in your scent.
I tell myself it's just a dream-- it is so calming and in slow motion.
But I can actually feel you next to me-- and hear you breathe-
Your breath tickles my neck!! It has to be real---- I want it to be real --
I have missed you for so long-----still loving you after all this time.
Even after all the hurt.------ I want to open my eyes and see you-- but--… Continue

Irish Gaelic is usually just called Irish
; usually Gaelic
means Scots Gaelic, a cousin language that is close, but not identical. The spelling was standardized in the 20th century, but the pronunciation wasn't, so there will be regional differences--there are at least three major dialects in Ireland. More on that another time.
But now, enough Irish for the chat room. No, there aren't many Irish speakers in the LiveIreland chat room, but some of us do like to use a touch of the… Continue

Yesterday was my birthday and what better way to spend it then to go for a hike?! I donned a nice pair of jeans instead of the loin cloth (sorry dabh and chip) and headed out to Cooper's Rock for a bit of exercise before I stuffed my face with cookie cake and pot pie. I don't think I would want to be anywhere else in the world then in WV in the autumn. The colors are absolutely amazing! Sadly I had to lower the image quality so I could put the pictures on the site but you guys get the jest.… Continue

We moved the show to the Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts in Dover (an elegantly refurbished movie theatre) for the final production on Saturday, Oct. 20 - We were in there from noon until 10 PM, rehearsing, setting the stage, rigging sound & lights, going over entrance and exit routes, etc., etc. - a grueling day..!! It all turned out to be worth it, though, as we sold out the orchestra section and a few balcony seats..!! The director said we may actually have made… Continue

Back in 2001, my Irish language teacher came up with the idea of our Gaelic League group sponsoring a cultural tent at the Dublin Irish Festival. He wanted a Wake House, a place where we could recreate the wakes of days gone by with music, stories, craic...you get the idea. Well, I volunteered to create the "corpse"--a stuffed body that my kids dubbed "Grandpa Lumpy" and I made up a tombstone (foam, a magic marker and some stone-look spray paint). After a bit of research, I also worked up a… Continue

For those of you not familiar with it...to begin with, Dublin is a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, but a city in its own right with a population of over 30,000. The festival began in 1987, celebrating the 1000th anniversary of the founding of the city of Baile atha Cliath (that's the real
Dublin!) and the first anniversary of Dublin, Ohio becoming a city (up from a village). The 2007 festival hit attendance records with over 93,000 visitors (more than 50,000 on Saturday alone!) and we had a… Continue

my brother sent this in my email, hilarious and too true!
New Chemical Element
The recent hurricanes and gasoline issues are proof of the existence of a
new chemical element. A major research institution has recently announced
the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science.
The new element has been named Governmentium. Governmentium (Gv) has one
neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198… Continue

Well, my first time blogging -
"The Hobbit" opened Saturday and the crowd was nearly a sellout..!!! The director said it was the first time the Children's Theatre EVER sold balcony seats..!! Dress rehearsal on Thursday was a train wreck, Friday's rehearsal went much better - and, as often is the case, the MAGIC happened on Saturday - the kids were absolutely phenomenal..!! (and the old man remembered almost all his lines and cues)
Then - guess what..?? Sunday afternoon, we did… Continue

What better way to update you on my lack of activity then here on my blog.
