Im back with a new composition

Took a while but now the new song is here.

Its called " Highland winds ".

The base consists of a flute and a guitar ,where alternately arpeggiating violin- and wind- and brasssections represent the different strength as well as the different directions of wind.

Happy (Celtic) New Year!

Halloween is oíche shamhna, Samhain night, New Year's Eve. In that time between the end of the last day of the old year and the first light of the new ghosts may walk, the púca rides the countryside and anything may be abroad!

California Fires

I have lived here since 1982 and these fires have been some of the worst ones to date. It's so tragic to see people losing everything they have in minutes. I have a friend that is in a fire area and I can't get in touch with him to see if his house is safe.

We get so busy with life and wrapped up in many things, but it's in times like this were we push aside those things to focus on what's important. Pray for the the families that have lost there homes and the firefighters that are still… Continue

An introductory language lesson

Irish Gaelic is usually just called Irish; usually Gaelic means Scots Gaelic, a cousin language that is close, but not identical. Birthday fun and one tired old lady!

Yesterday was my birthday and what better way to spend it then to go for a hike?! I donned a nice pair of jeans instead of the loin cloth (sorry dabh and chip) and headed out to Cooper's Rock for a bit of exercise before I stuffed my face with cookie cake and pot pie. The Hobbit - Conclusion

WOW..!!

We moved the show to the Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts in Dover (an elegantly refurbished movie theatre) for the final production on Saturday, Oct. 20 - We were in there from noon until 10 PM, rehearsing, setting the stage, rigging sound & lights, going over entrance and exit routes, etc., etc. - a grueling day..!! The Irish Wake

Back in 2001, my Irish language teacher came up with the idea of our Gaelic League group sponsoring a cultural tent at the Dublin Irish Festival. He wanted a Wake House, a place where we could recreate the wakes of days gone by with music, stories, craic...you get the idea. The Dublin Irish Festival

For those of you not familiar with it...to begin with, Dublin is a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, but a city in its own right with a population of over 30,000.
