I am the catalyst
Mere casuistry of modern faith
I walked the land in search of you
Thou I knew little-
least of all your name
Your birth not realized yet
mine, an extension of my fame
I scoured the winding slopes
of Eire
In search of truth
I discovered change
Ireland, sweet Ireland
land possessed by itself
No greater beauty had I found
Immense dignity
and still…
A country’s…

I seem to have misplaced a lot of my time. For the last week, I haven't been able to really finish anything. It's not for lack of trying, believe me, I try harder and harder, but it just doesn't happen. I think the days are getting shorter! Sure, the sun's up longer but that's all part of some great big government conspiracy to fool us into not noticing how much less time we really have. You get it? Really, I'm grasping at straws trying to figure out how it is that, though I bust my ass all…

Over the past few days I've added three new lenses to my Squidoo set of Celtic Music lenses. There are now 18 lenses for artists and groups, plus one for
The Thistle & Shamrock,
LiveIreland.com, and the
Celtic Music Lenses lens which lists all the others.
I was a bit surprised that there wasn't more…

Right so, I haven't uploaded a blog before, so I hereby got blog-deflowered or (b)logged, so to say :)
I decided to use this (irregular or infrequent) blog to explain some features of Dutch culture to the world.
I just received a text message from my girl friend that she's finally passed the driving exams, and so she can go pick up her license and drive out and about the country. I can almost hear the people on LI who know me thinking: But isn't he about 22 years old, so his…

If I'd set out to do the Celtic Music lenses in any kind of order, the lens for
Planxty might've been among the first. The four original members, Christy Moore, Donal Lunny, Andy Irvine and Liam O'Flynn will be familiar to anyone with much interest in Irish music They helped popularize the bouzouki, a Greek instrument introduced to Irish music by Johnny Moynihan. Moynihan was a member of the group Sweeney's Men when he introduced it, and…

I'm glad I continued work on the lens for
Loreena McKennitt, one of the six lenses I'd done basic work on several days ago, early in the day. While it was very warm yesterday, today was downright hot, with temperatures in the mid-90s, well above the average high even in mid-summer. Considering most of our days have had below-average temperatures since last September, it was…

I was only going to do one lens today, the one for Enya. But as I was looking up information for her, I realized she hasn't released as many albums as I thought, and somehow I found myself looking at what Amazon offers for Silly Wizard.
I got
Enya's lens done in plenty of time to get to work on
Silly Wizard's. Amazon is offering five of their albums directly from them,…

It's only 2:41PM and I feel like I've been getting my arse kicked for the last 12 hours. I'm hitting the wall, folks. Energy is flagging, at best. Out of coffee. No hot water for tea. I had one apple left, but it was rotten on the inside. Pretty much this day is sucking like a major.
Guess who lost the "go" in "go for it."

Yesterday I decided to get basic work done on six Squidoo lenses I knew I'd eventually want to get published. So I began setting up each lens, adding YouTube videos and photos or album covers, deleting stuff Squidoo puts in the basic setup and adding what I felt I'd need. Other than selecting YouTube videos, which goes fairly quickly since I just look for a good quality one that's long enough and if possible one I know I'll like, it's fairly…

There are hundreds of victims in China after the earthquake happened these days and in Nyanmar for the cyclones, in Chile there are many affected for the Chaitén volcano as well, so the chilean authorities have decided to evacuate the dangerous zone.
The nature has made feel its strenght in different places of the world.... will it be recovering its territory? The mankind in their longing of growing haven´t thought in their own support and have destroyed thousands of hectares of native…

...that I wasn't really communicating lately. A lot of other things to do with higher priorities...
I will fly to Spain tomorrow morning - very early. My stepfather is there and I will take him home with his car, because he's afraid to drive the long way back on his own.
So - take care and behave ;)…

Ok, so I wouldn't call what I'm experiencing a hangover, by definition, I mean, it was only a glass of wine and a martini, but I had a cigar, too, and that's probably why I'm feeling a wee bit out of shape. Oh, and I was enjoying my cigar while pulling out potato vines that have managed to overwhelm our patio. Maybe "potato vine" is what they're calling kudzu these days. In the end, I saved the rose bushes that were being engrossed and reclaimed about a third of our patio. Yay,…

sur·ly [sur-lee] –adjective, -li·er, -li·est.
1. churlishly rude or bad-tempered: a surly waiter.
2. unfriendly or hostile; menacingly irritable: a surly old lion.
3. dark or dismal; menacing; threatening: a surly sky.
For SOME reason, this word seems to really stick to me today. I think I'm in a pisser of a mood. Not enough coffee, perhaps. Or maybe it's because the huge presentation I'd planned to give yesterday never happened. The folks I was supposed to…

It IS the rough draft, I could sit here for an hour listing things that are wrong with it. I always say that first impressions can hang you if you are not careful. Well whatever, enjoy. Feedback is welcome, and encouraged.

Thanks to the influence of liveIreland.com, I've tended to focus on Irish music for the Celtic music lenses I created first, although I did get the lens for Scotsman Alasdair Fraser in there. Over the past few days, I've created three lenses for the Scottish groups The Tannahill Weavers, Capercaillie, and The Battlefield Band. The page for Celtic Music: Lenses was updated as well of course.
Normally, I'd been creating one lens and seeing it through to publishing before starting on…

Really, it feels like Wednesday already. This day is absolutely crawling along. Remember the clocks in school? you'd stare at it and swear the second hand was going backwards sometimes. I've got all these things to do today and I'm just not making progress. Hmph. I think my head is still up in Lake Tahoe.
