Profile Information

Hometown:
Boston
Relationship Status:
Single
About Me:
I'm a single mother to a gorgeous little girl (age 10). I work full time, while completing my studies towards a degree in Liberal Arts/Celtic Studies at Harvard. I'm a citizen of Portugal who's grown up and still living in the "States."
erm...
I'd like to say something interesting about myself, like I'm some genetically engineered monkey who was cloned and born from a test tube in some secret lab in a small cottage on the Blasket Islands or something, but my life really isn't all that exciting.

I do have my fair share of stories, oddities or not, so if you feel so inclined, feel free to ask whatever you've got on your mind. :)

Otherwise, I think that about covers it for now.
Favorite Music:
Traditional Irish (obviously), jazz, blues, folk, folk rock, indie, "world", classical... a little bit of everything...
Currently Reading? (Books Magazines etc)
the novel, "Ireland." Just by chance.
Favourite Place?
Ireland of course! Are we talking pub? Location? TYPE of place? I can be happy almost anywhere..

Alo. Meu nome e Kevin. Bom dia. Anyway, that is about the extent of what I remember of Portuguese. Saw that you are interested in Celtic topics (as am I). Want to learn the language and enjoy the folklore. Hoping we could correspond. Take care.

Hello BCMFest friends and supporters-

Well, applications for BCMFest 2010 (Jan. 8-9) are due very soon -- July 1st.

This year we're focusing on the core tradition, so trad ensembles, session hounds, and tradition bearers, please consider applying. But we won't discount new and progressive collaborations, either. If it's Celtic-based, and it's good, BCMFest wants YOU.

Download an application and send it in by the end of the month! If you know someone you think should appear at BCMFest, pass this message along to them. And if you have applied in the past, you don't even need to send a sound sample.

ALSO: In the true fashion of a 21st-century traditional music event, BCMFest is now on Twitter! Click here, and then do a search for BCMFest. Then you keep up with all the BCMFest happenings.

Thanks as always,
The BCMFest Board
