About Me:: Skidu are driven by a passion for traditional Irish music & song to the fore in Kildare. On board were three born and bred Kildare musicians; Shaymo Lake (fiddle/banjo); Peig (vocals/fiddle/bodhran); Dickie (Smokes) Docheray (guitar) and Roscommon man now living in Kildare; Frankie (Bones) Owens (bazouki/guitar/vocals).

Drawing on each others talents. Skill and vast experience, Skidu have blended to produce a unique Band sound original and fresh while still keeping with tradition, yet, with broad appeal which sets them apart from other groups. Skidu between them have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to tunes and songs. These they hand pick and nurture till thry get their desired effect. While Skidu are in the early stages, this band are receiving tremendous feedback on their performance and are planning a CD for 08. They have a long term plan in place, which is, to perform in their home area, the festivals in Ireland eventually to bring their beloved music to festivals abroad. This of course does not come without its price but coupled with sheer commitment and determination, Skidu is here to make a statement and get their music out there.....while having fun along the way.
