We went to Ireland last summer for about 3 weeks. We started off in Dublin, went south to Kilkenny, Waterford, then Kinsale. Then off to Kilarney and the national park there. Next was Dingle, Adare, Doolin, Galway, Aran Island and last was Westport. We stayed in Bed and Breakfasts (except Dublin). Rented a car (never get a compact...there middle size is our compact size. Nor get a clutch...it's enough to learn which side of the road to drive.) We stayed at most places 2 days some one. It was a blast. Meet so many people and saw so many things. Of course I want to go back...so did you said you were going? Will be puttig up new pictures after our vacation here. We are leaving and starting out here in Nevada to Yellowstone, Vancouver Island, Washington State and Oregan...then back home. Will be gone for 3 weeks. We are tent camping this time...a new adventure. You have a safe and fun 4th of July.
Made it to Yosemite and was a blast! So beautiful...as always. Been down to Devils Postpile and Mono Lake area for a day...also camped out in mid Nevada in the mountains and did some hiking. So grand and to yourself out there. How are things going? Any of that awful smoke from the 800 fires? We woke up in San Francisco this morning and had it with us all the way to Fallon Nevada. Drop a line when you get a chance.
Yea! the pass is open! Looks a bit cool with the snow...but the valley should be nice...we will leave at 5 in the morning, make the loop and eat in Carson by 8:00. A full day. Weather here today was cold with field day for the lower grades...but they had fun. Take care, and thanks, Pat
Saw your pics of Yosemite from I believe Glacier Point? Of the falls. Have hiked that trail so many times...get view of the Nevada and Vernal Falls. I guess that it must of been spring time? I grew up in Sunnyvale...not to far away from you and my husband and I do many visit back to Calif...that is where our hearts are compared to Nevada. Infact I have a one day trip with a fellow teacher and his wife to take them to Yosemite for the day from the east side (hope the pass it open!). So you taught school. I'm just starting my career (# 3) and am a Special Ed for Elementary...LD students. I to love to take photos and learning all the time. My husband is also retired (recreation direction for parks and recreation here in our county) and he says he is busier than ever...and he is. How about you? And the sweetheart of a little girl...who is that. Well got to go...these are our last two weeks of schools and everything is upside down...I'm ready and the students are ready for the year to end. Talk to you later. Pat
I'm always up for making friends. I can't tell you much about visiting Ireland since I have never been there. I do have a few ideas where I would like to go, but those aren't even very well formulated. Still, there is a lot of information available on this site, and it's growing. There are even a couple of groups dedicated to learning the language.
