Kevin, this song is such a great song and you really do it justice. Judy Plester sounds amazing on the violin as well. You all sound amazing. It's tuff to keep the song going when it's such a long tune, but you did great!

Just like the Irish. Give them four days off and some money, and they'll head for the sun!

Honest to God worst winter, and longest winter EVER! Global warming, my butt. Finally, just within the last two weeks, spring has arrived---and yesterday, we had our first day that bordered on hot! Gorgeous today. Big Irish festivsal this weekend---Teada, Bohola, and The Bridies will be the best of the lot. Gaelic Park. Runs today through Memorial Day.

Yeah/ A guy I met here on the site, Alan Parker, is from Alaska. I hipped him to them, and he LOVES them!! It would have to be something REALLY obscure not to have them get it to you---and a lot, lot quicker than the time frame you were talking about. They'll mail it out the same day you call. How's the weather?

True. Trust me. There is SO much crap out there. RAMPANT LION. You'll see.

Rampant has EVERYTHINH---you will NOT believe! Trust me. Best in America. Call 'em. 630-834-8108 Don't know the album, but Dathi Sproule is terrific. His latest is The Crow in the Sun.

Dathi Sproule (Dahee Sprool) is a wonderful guitar player from Minneapolis---a native of Northern Ireland. Rampant Lion is an INCREDIBLE Celtic Music store down here. They have EVERYTHING. Great people, also. Jack and Gayle Baker. Here is the link---you should use them!!

If you call or contact them, tell them I recommended you! Might save you a buck!

Sandy---are you also hip to Rampant Lion?
B
BTW--Liz's first album was with Dathi Sproule, somewhere around 39 or more years ago. The cover is a stitch---but lots of Liz fans say it is her best---though strictly for purists!!

Profile Information

Hometown:
Anchorage, Alaska
About Me:
I've lived in Alaska my whole life...born and raised. I did leave the state for school tho.
I have always been facinated with Ireland...perhaps because of it's history...or maybe an old family link (only about an 8th or 16th Irish along with about 56 other things...a bit of a mutt I guess). Either way, I have had the oportunity to go there twice and loved it both times. I would love to go there again for a longer period of time, but financially that does not seem so possible.
Ah well, a girl can dream right?
I have a BS in Anthropology/Archaeology so the history facinates me greatly.
Becides that...90% of the people I met and talked to were kind and warm. I loved hearing stories (be they true or not) and the music, seeing the scenery, wandering around, and trying to blend in as much as possible!! :-P
Favorite Music:
All kinds!
Currently Reading? (Books Magazines etc)
World Without End
Favourite Place?
So many!! But to narrow it down...In Ireland = Achill Island, quite possibly Gielty's. Here at home = on sofa in front of fire with a good book! :-)

Sandy

So - To Ireland I went.

I tried to catch a Leprechaun, or a cute Irish man, but ended up catching a cold instead!
I guess I didn't really try hard enough for the man, but to my defence I was distracted by other things...like Butlers Chocolate stores!!! Oh my word, their mochas are the best (especially if you ask for marshmellows on top) and they give you a lovely little piece of chocolate just for ordering something!
It was a whorlwind trip, and except for the cold I had a great time!
I'll try to get some pictures up s… Continue
