Hi Rosie
Glad to see an other fiddle player, (I am assuming from your "About Me"). There is also a fiddle group as well.

About Me:
Since I joined liveIreland at the beginning of last year, my life has changed dramatically. I lost my husband and best friend, Barry, this past December, just two weeks before Christmas. It was and is still quite traumatic for me. He had been in a horrific car accident about two years ago and had made an amazing recovery. His spirit, tenacity and love of life was so strong, even to the end. One couldn't really tell he had ever been in an accident which nearly cost him his life...
And then one morning he collapsed at work and was gone, just like that.
Our common Irish/Scottish heritage, our love for music and life's adventures and the love of our Lord brought us together. I do feel blessed we were able to continue on our shared life's journey for the past ten years.
We were planning on making a trip to Ireland in mid- September, but my 79 yr old mother (her mother was born in Manor Hightower, Leitrim,Ireland) and I will be making the trip instead, with Barry along with us in spirit.
Barry always loved to sit and listen to me play my fiddle at home in the evenings (...and of course with our two cats snuggled up next to him), and he was always there with a smile on his face, front and center, at every music gig I ever played in.
I will be bringing my fiddle with me and hope to sit in and play with other musicians in some of the pubs while in Ireland, perhaps have a pint of Guinness....I know Barry will be there with mom and I, smiling and having a grand time himself.
If anyone knows of any great pubs where we can go, where they wouldn't mind an extra fiddler, please let me know. I would appreciate it very much. Slainte!
Favorite Music:
Mostly all music depending on my mood, but especially Celtic songs that are mournfully beautiful, both Irish and Scottish.
Currently Reading? (Books Magazines etc)
Reading anything I can about Ireland and researching my Gaelic ancestry as well.
Favourite Place?
My home in the beautiful Pacific Northwest; and in my mind's wanderings, Ireland.
