A few more items. Sorry this is not as cohesive as it should be but if I don't write them down I will forget to. I spent 4-6 months asking questions and looking for answers from people that went there (and travel out of the country) to make my time there as stress free as possible. Call your credit card companies (if you plan on using them there) and let them know you will be out of the country. I brought two with me in case I lost one or had trouble with one. They will ask your travel dates and the countries you will be in and put a note in your account. Otherwise they might suspect that it was stolen and put a freeze on it. They will also give you a phone number if the card has a problem or is stolen. There are ATMs everywhere so you don't have to hit a currency exchange at the airport. Check with your bank/Credit Union if it is excepted there. On the back of your card it will list the financial network that it is a member of. Mine is PLUS. Another accepted there is STAR. Irish law states that they can not charge you to use the ATMs but I think there may have been a currency exchange fee. Don't remember but it was a couple of dollars. If you have an ATM with a bank that has a European counterpart like Bank of America I don't believe there is a currency exchange if you use their machines.
