Hi, Rebecca!
Last night I listened to a public TV broadcast airing a performance by the High Kings, a new presentation from the Celtic Woman group. They did a song that was familiar but I couldn't place where I had heard it before. It took a while, but I finally remembered it was a solo of a lady touring with the David Munnelly company last year, Kat Eggleston (very haunting melody, done on-stage with nothing but soloist and microphone, NO backup whatsoever. The song, origin unbeknownst to me, is called "Galway to Gracelend" and is about an Elvis fan who travels halfway around the world to be at the graveside of the "King". An awesome work which sounded better as a quiet solo than as done by the quartet. I can't find the lyrics, but Amazon.com lists the High Kings album with this song on it and gives a short sound clip. This sounds like one for your repertoire. Just a thought....!
I can't get a picture to stick here, guess I'm just too old and dumb to know how. Wanted to send a pic of my next baby-sitting assignment, Athena, a baby siberian tiger cub who is crippled from birth but showing signs through constant work, love and therapy of gaining some use of her hind legs. I pray she can stand up and walk on all four before she gains much more weight (almost 50Kg already, quite the kitty.)
Have a great evening, my day is just starting!!
What a week! Sorry I've been missing! My big Maine coon Homey is in ICU for a gall stone, goes to surgery this afternoon. He's holding up well and he's strong enough to survive this. When my vet bill is paid they should be able to name a new wing in my honor, HA! Weather stinks here, too, bolstered up the hay-filled housing for the outsiders last night, sort of drizzly off and on today.
Hope your house survives the "insiders" today. Mine is fairly trashed daily by the residents, now I have to house Homey through recovery indoors, too. Wheeeee! Can't wait to see the reaction from my hybrid bobcat over this.
Take care, too, and hoping the ICT cold is merciful this winter for your sake!
how are your feline friends? We had freezing rain today so all of the little critters got to stay inside. Hope it's not to crazy when I get home! Take care, stay warm.
It snowed here yesterday. I know it's crazy but it's nice to have some real winter weather. Last week it was in the 80's and I know the temp. was about the same down there. Don't work too hard, though your job sounds great (hard, but great!). I just adopted a kitten about a month ago. She's great, getting along amazingly well my dogs (3 corgis).
