About Me:
I have been working for corporations as a salesman for too long while writing 7 novels and enough short stories for three anthologies. My favorite short story writers are Flannery O'Connor, W. E. B. DuBois, Twain, Edward P. Jones, Bret Harte, Katherine Anne Porter, Shirley Grau, O'Henry, Stephen King and Guy de Maupassant. I have read two novels a month since I was fifteen years of age. Recently I have been fitted for bifocals-- and my reading has eroded to two novels a month. I am actively trying to publish my writing and promise any editor or agent that my work is superior to most modern fiction. I have posted two short stories, Passing for ASP and We Will Save the World. The former revisits old forms of racism and the latter is a countercultural look at Woodstock. The stories I write are a weave of all the tales handed down in my family but wildly exagerrated. Please sample my stories and form your own opinion.
Favorite Music:
Opera(Verismo, American, Italian Grand, Czech, French Wagnerian and Russian), Oratorios, Baroque, Classical, Post Romantic, Some Minimalist, Jazz (Cool, BeBop, Swing, Delta Blues, Chicago and Dixieland), My favorite Jazz player is Fats Waller, stride pianist. New Age especially Liz Story, George Winston. Irish Traditional and American R&B. Traditional Irish Music is new to me but love Afro Celt Sound System. They remind me of the way we Yanks started Jazz at Congo Square in New Orleans and I can't wait for more Irish composers to bring the music forward while keeping traditional tonality. Bring it on!
Currently Reading? (Books Magazines etc)
You Can't Go Home Again -- I am old enough to understand the prose I tried reading in the 7th grade, When I finish with Wolfe (look Homeward Angel) I'm going to take another crack at Joyce's Ullyses

THE SURE THING, CAN DO, CAN'T MISS SYSTEM

The fifteen-cent-a-minute long distance phone call from my wife to my sister-in-law was an hour and a half long. I peered over my newspaper to the clock over Mabel's shoulder. The phone receiver blocked my view. I craned my neck.

I stopped my eavesdropping, put down my paper and took out a calculator from the drawer. Mabel looked up at me and squinted.

Land of the Free

The trip to Ireland for the O’Connell family of Simsbury, Connecticut, was winding down in the western town of Ennis. John O’Connell, the family patriarch, conducted the tour that included all of the Art Museums, antiquity museums and plays that Ireland had to offer and his issue could stand. Paul and Peter, John’s two sons, waited their time to play golf at the world’s greatest golf courses only to be thwarted by rainy…

That was about a good a game as you could ask for.  I was a little disappointed in the officiating .. especially the linesman nearly taking out the Canadian defense when the US hit the post.  The penalties in women's hockey seem pretty random a lot of times.  The men's semi-final was also a very well played game on both sides.  Brilliant goal-tending at both ends of the rink.  That game was well ref'ed.  Now you know why the NHL doesn't want to send the players next Olympics ... Makes the regular season product look pretty poor.   I sure wish they would have gone to international ice size when they rebuilt a lot of the arenas in the early 90's.  The players are so big and fast now, probably part of the reason there are so many injuries (concussions).Hope all is well with you.  How is the writing going?

Well... not much hurt..!
Was scaried for the first 10 seconds... then ran out of the office building... and still standing on the sidewalk, it's been shaking for an extra 40 seconds (rough estimate) or so... then got back inside... ;)
It was a bit messier at home, though... few things got off the shelves..! ;-) But again, no much hurt..! Nothing compare to Haïti..!!!
So I can't really complain..!
Thanks for caring and asking, though..
Best,
wwm

Hi Jeremiah,
Just re-read your previous statement about getting through all the books from Zola regarding the Rougon-Macquart...
Just curious.... were you referring to summer 2011..? ;-)
Best,
wwm
