About Me:: My family is from North Ireland in the mid and North part of Antrim Co., the male line that gave me the surname is from Irvine,Scotland but they are not Ulster-Scot, my Grandmothers are Irish some from Donagal some from Tyrone,Omagh, and Dublin ...Scotland branded them traitors for going against what they seen as unjust laws of the Presbyterian church and Scot Gov. and they left for Antrim, where he was adopted and did adopt Ireland as home, he married a Priscilla Kennedy, from there we came to America and 300 years later we are still here.My family has never called itself Scot or American we are Irish living in America , even after 300 years this has not changed ,weird how an island that adopted us that long ago and we lived there for few gen.s had such a huge influence on the next 10 generations, that is something that cannot be said about our being American even though we have been here longer..Thank God for Ireland! I am doing my best to teach my children some of the traditions I was taught by my parents and grandparents but their gen has even less care bout such things then my gen did. New world and age I guess. Hopefully some of the best will remain, like the music..
