When anyone asks me about Celtic folk music I usually answer that it's somewhere between Persian folk music and American Bluegrass. Almost everyone know about the link to Bluegrass but few know about the Persian side of the question. I strongly suggest that everyone listens to some of Sima Bina on Youtube. About Me:
Retired bush pilot. Did most of my flying in the jungles of South America, sub-Sahara Africa, and the far north of Russia. Have also worked as a musician since the late 1960's. Play bass, guitar, and recently have taken up the Bodhram. Presently trying to find someone to play with....not many Celtic bands in Sweden.

world folk especially Celtic and Celtic related such as Bluegrass, Persian folk etc.
Currently Reading? (Books Magazines etc)
Read 5-6 books a week mostly English (Victorian) mystery
