30+-year military service member (now Navy Reserve) and US Army civilian employee. Married with 4 children and 2 grandchildren. Was blessed to spend ten days touring Ireland last May with my youngest daughter and a group from her college, Benedictine College (in our home town of Atchison Kansas). My mother is of Irish decent (she's a Donahue), and we were able to visit a number of locations from where family is from (Co. Sligo, Co. Galway, and the Aran Islands we know of). Other family names are O'Feeny or O'Fearna, Malia, and Robinson. The tour was one of the most emotionally satisfying and thought-provoking experiences of my life. I am ready to bring the entire family and return!
I enjoy a wide variety of music, but primarily rock during the day and traditional Irish in the evening.

The Harry Potter series, great to enjoy and unwind. Just discovered Stephen Lawhead. Also just picked up at a used book store a copy of "A Walk in Ireland", ed. by Michael Fewer, will enjoy the memories it evokes of our trip to Ireland.
