We had some fun in Waterford, but if you go to the Northwest Donegal is the most beautiful area--my family hails from Creeslough and Letterkenny and there are bridges, mountains and so many things to do on the landscape--great music and food too. ...

I am planning my third trip to Ireland, I have been to Dublin, Central and Southwestern Ireland, I want to go to either the Northwest or Southeast parts of the country. Can anyone give me suggestions of towns or sights I don't want to miss?

Yes Ireland is home to me and my Belgian wife, she loves it so much that she has stated that she would like to live there. Every time we have been to Ireland we hate to leave and we are planning our next trip on our way home on the plane. I do believe that we both have aquired green blood. Do you like to read Irish historic novels? If so an author I have found, Morgan Llwelyn is outstanding, the first book in her 20th century series 1916 is a good place to start. We also listen to Irish/Celtic music and have a favorite Irish Pub, Fiddler's Hearth, in South Bend that we like to frequent.

Hi! I'm Judy, Dan's wife. Did you drive in Ireland down those narrow roads?
What fun!! Poor Dan--I kept telling him "to the left, to the left", and after that he would over compensate, and then I'd say, "too far! too far"! We got a lot of laughs when driving. What I loved about Ireland were the fabulous people we met in the pubs, on the streets, in the churches---just everywhere. They just couldn't do enough for us. And those beatiful hedgerows and sheep dotting the mountains---simple breathtaking! Well, signing off for now; so glad you love the Emerald Isle as much as we do!--Judy

I forgot--I love Dublin, but it the West that calls tome. Dublin is like the rest of Europe and reminds me terribly of New York stateside. Adare is an amazing little respite form the world isn't it? I have had the pleasure of going through it twice now, but Galway owns me : ))

It always amazes me how small the degrees of separation are in people. Yes I love Indiana, a state you obviously know well--who could have know : ) I think I ma so enamored with what you have been thinking about Ireland that I must ask--how does that work for oyu? Do you feel like Ireland is the place that is most like home or is home, home? For me, I think about Ireland all the time and want to be there. It's not an anti-American thing, but just afeeling that it provides me that is totally unexplainable and never ceases to overwhelm me emotionally. It is home in its own way if that makes sense.

I will certainly check them out closer. We have considered sending them some info for booking but we felt they might be a bit more into the rowdier side of the music.
We are coming through Indiana on our way down and back to the Irish Fest in Mississippi. We will be playing a House concert in Indianapolis on the night of the 9-16. if anyone is interested in coming contact me directly for info at
thewhitecrow@charterinternet.com
