74 years old and retired X 2. Once from U.S.Army Reserve and once from civilian job. Ham radio operator (N8IDJ), woodworker, shooting enthusiast, amatuer photographer, lover of all things Irish and especially the music. Long time committee member for the Dublin (OHIO) Irish Festival (3 day attendance of 93,000 last year). Married 54 years to the same gal. I don't know how she's put up with me for all these years.
Favorite Music:
The folk ballads of Ireland and the U.S.A., the big bands of the '40's and '50's. Big fan of the Black sisters, Niamh Parsons, Irish Rovers, The Fureys, Christy Moore, Makem and Clancy, Cherish the Ladies, Karan Casey, Tommy Sands, Phil Coulter, Aoife Clancy.

"Hell's Highway", the story of the 101st Airborne Division in the WWll liberation of Holland.
Favourite Place?
Actually two. Donnellon's Pub in Kilkishen, Co. Clare and anyplace on the west coast of Ireland from Co. Kerry to Co. Donegal. Strange thing is that when visiting there, I feel as though I've come home despite never having lived in Ireland. Do you suppose there's something to the "previous life" thing ?

I am very sorry to hear this sad news.
Bob talked with so much love about the beautiful roses in Ireland: "Their color was very vivid and some were the size of cabbages." It made me feel that Bob's heart was like those roses.
My thoughts go out to Bob's family. Wishing them peace and comfort in this difficult time.

Thank you, P.J. , announcing that--I just heard the sad news. The Dublin Irish Festival has lost a great volunteer and the Columbus area Irish community has lost a great friend. May the peace of the season remain with his family in their time of sorrow.

It is with deep regret that I have to inform you that, on Saturday, December 20th, 2008, Bob passed away after a three week illness. Please keep Bob, his wife, children and 5 grandchildren in your prayers during this holiday season. A memorial service is planned for next Saturday in Columbus, at the Shamrock Club.
