Summer 1977

"What a great year to be born in! Great music, (ABBA at the height of their careers), warm summer, everything going for it. Yep, I loved the seventies! Thank you for your lovely comments, I've decided to grow old gracefully and not dye my hair.…"

Profile Information

About Me:
I'm an actress living in Dublin, Ireland with my husband and grown-up children.

I really love acting and my experience includes theatre, tv and film, recently having completed a couple of shorts. Another area I enjoy working in is radio.

When I'm not acting I like to read, mainly the old spy and detective stories and fit in a bit of writing now and then.

I'm a bit partial to the old blogging so if you've nothing better to do I invite you to browse through my journals covering everything from snippets from my childhood holidays down the country to the American Presidential Election!

In there you'll also find links to my MySpace, Flickr Photostream and Twitter Account.
Website (If any):
Favorite Music:
Everything across the board (rock, rock ballads, jazz, you name it!). On the Irish front it has always been, amongst others, Planxty. The brilliant Christy Moore and Andy Irvine singing Ride On and Arthur McBride in their wonderful unique voices sends shivers down my spine every time.
Christy Moore Live - Ride On
Planxty Live 1982

I cannot go without mentioning the great Dubliners. Listening to Ronnie singing In The Rare Auld Times, its lyrics so heartbreakingly true of today's rapidly changing face of Dublin city, I'm reminded of a time when neighbours had time to chat, children played safely on our streets and it cost sixpense to go up Nelson's Pillar. God be with the days!

A Window Of Light In Darkest Winter

Posted on February 5, 2011 at 11:30 0 Comments

The above image I came across one Christmas several years ago in a Sunday newspaper. Its dipiction of terraced houses on a winter's night, their windows bathed in bright orange light, brought me straight back to my childhood in our avenue in Ringsend. The photo had such an effect on me that I cut it out and… Continue

Solace In Familiar Places

Posted on December 2, 2009 at 23:30 0 Comments

The journey along Dublin's main O'Connell Street onto Parnell Street was an uphill struggle against battering winds and heavy rain made all the worse by the fact that I was trying to hold up an umbrella. While the end of my journey brought some physical comfort away from the atrocious weather it would not give much in the way of psychological consolation as I was to collect my husband's… Continue

Connemara Revisited!

Posted on May 22, 2009 at 13:30 4 Comments

Our arrival (hubby and I) a little over a week ago in Spiddal, Connemara, County Galway was greeted by warm sunshine along with a gentle breeze blowing in from the Atlantic Ocean. It seemed summer had finally arrived on Ireland's West Coast.

(Above: View over Spiddal Quay, Connemara, County Galway)

Not too much has changed in Spiddal since our first visit exactly thirty seven years ago when we, along with a group of friends (most of… Continue

Oh we had such a blast in Ireland. Glad you enjoy the photos. I still need to upload some, our computer got stolen with the last disc in it. I figured I would get them developed again and put back onto a cd.

A Chara,

Just passing through. Absolutely positively love Ronnie singing In The Rare Auld Times. One of my favorites. Picked up a mixed cd in Sneem on our last trip to Ireland and that cd has all the classics.

Your page appears steeped in richness and I can't wait to check out everything you have taken the time to kindly link and spell out.

Buíochas a ghabháil leat chomh cineálta,
