Katy, At least Mary Ann Dalon's story had a happy ending. I have started writing up sections of her life in my blog and discovered another descendant is also on Live Ireland. One day I will come to Dublin and have a Guinness in her memory which will be fitting as her only offence once in Tasmania was for getting drunk.

Hi David, Dublin City is amazing and if you like photography/history/heritage truly you will have a great they do a grand Guinness. The photo of Cobh and the Harbour again is a place filled with history, and more than likely your g,g grandmother would have spent time in Cobh then she would have sailed with others from the very Harbour.
Its a shame that so many had been transported for small things, chances are she needed the shawl to keep warm....cheers Katy

Katy, Dublin is one of the places I most want to visit. My great great grandmother, Mary Ann Dalton was from Dublin and came to Tasmania as a convict after stealing a shawl.
