The Chapel Royal and The Garda (Police) Museum in Dublin Castle

The Chapel Royal and The Garda (Police) Museum in Dublin Castle

The Chapel Royal in Dublin Castle was the official Church of Ireland chapel of the Household of the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland from 1814 until the creation of the Irish Free State in 1922. In 1943, the church became the property of the Irish Army, and the former Church of Ireland chapel became a Roman Catholic Church, under the name the Church of the Most Holy Trinity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dublin_Castle

The Garda (Police) Museum is situated in the 13th century Norman 'Record Tower'. This is the last intact tower not only of the Castle but also of medieval Dublin itself and was once a top security jail for state prisoners. http://www.dublincastle.ie/VisitorFacilities/TheGardaPoliceMuseum/
