I was not logged in but I heard you mention my name for listening. I listen as much as possible and I really enjoy this site. Thanks for playing relly great music.
Fantastic show Bill and Imelda….don't know how you manage it every week…but there you are. Sure glad I tuned in today!!
black is the colour Karen Casey
what is the name of this song playing?
That was a really nice tribute to Remembrance Day. Thanks Gerry
I will be premiering the Liz Carroll cd on my show tonight, too.
Listening in from Atlanta. Great weekend for Atlanta's first IrishFest. Headliners Trian with Liz Carroll, Daithi and Bill. Hopefully the first of many more. I was heavy-laden with prizes from the silent auction. Hard to believe I could do most of my Christmas shopping in one night. Not sure if Elaine was more excited about the IrishFest t-shirt or the three bags (now down to one) of Taytos...
FAB NANCY!! FAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Daithi, do you have anything by Celtic Expressions Band? especially a track called Sound the Trumpets?
so glad you are back Nancy
Have been away for a while, getting lots of messages in my mail. Found out on Halloween that I'm nearly cancer-free, no more chemo! They think what they see is scar tissue, I get another CT scan in two months. Yay! I will try to listen in tomorrow, Bill and Imelda! Slan to everyone I miss!
Good, Daithi!! You need communication!!
Ho Ron, I'll let Daithi know of the request, if he does not already! Were you at Fest this year?
Warm greetings from America's Great Midwest - Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Any chance of hearing: Silly Wizard's version of "The Blackbird Of Sweet Avondale" ?
Thanks for all the wonderful music.
Oh go ahead Bill…tell us how you really feel :)
Probably not, Susan, so you are right. A number of years ago there was an album released, called East Wind that tried to inculcate middle eastern music into Celtic music. It was dreadful. You can reference my column on the homepage where I discuss this. How this musical fiasco has made it into the play rotation here is totally beyond my understanding. It DID get very popular among trad musicians to put some of these tunes on their cd's, basically to show their musicianship ( or something). Listeners, and cd buyers, answered by not purchasing the junk and sales fell. End of fad. However, like a bacteria that refuses to die, it lingers on in the host. Good ears by you. Dreadful music from them.
Hello to all, I'm a little puzzled by the music I'm hearing on here. I grew up a Irish-Scotish family in the southern US. The family was very musical (all but me) and family gatherings were fanastic. But I'm hearing some music on here today that has a Persian sound to them. Am I wrong?
