I see you still use chatroll :) The problem with the open chatroll system was that it took a heavy load of trolls and dangerous viral spammers. It was great that anyone could use it without membership and we could allow anyone to join. Unfortunately we were threatened by certain individuals that we were responsible for spurious links being put up by spammers. The risks were too great as a voluntary set up we couldn't monitor a chat room 24/7. I think it's unfair that certain members expect us to be here at 4am Irish time to instigate chat. As with the old days we have day jobs, family etc. If they want to volunteer moderation after hours and roster a 24/7 sheduale I'm all ears. I haven't used chatroll in a while and maybe they've updated their spam and bot policy. If that's the case I will run tests and see if it's feesable.

Maybe people if they drop in could all tell us what time GMT is good for them to chat. (For those not in the know, that is zero hour in Greenwich England, better known as GMT (Greenwich Mean TIme) or more recently as TUC, or Temps Universel Coordoné, also called in English TUC, but known as Coordinated Universal Time. But the new acronym is from the French. We all measure back and forward from it. For example, in EST in Toronto, I am GMT or TUC -5 (minus 4 in the summer with DST).

Left off my list of missed friends: The inimitable and much missed Amanda, Russ and Charlene in Newfoundland, Don Lewis, Matthew Todd, Wyrd Wanderer, Greentia... and many more that don't come easily to my tired mind. Please do say hello if you check in, and as Alan has suggested, give us times that would be good for all of us to chat. Slan and slam! C de L
