Grúpa na Gaeilge

Information

Grúpa na Gaeilge

This group is for all those who wish to learn the Irish language with me. I am not a fluent speaker but someone who is in the process of learning myself. It is my hope that we can become an interactive group so we can all progress together.

Thanks to all of you for returning. I guess I just didn't realize how much it meant to you guys and I'm thankful for you all. As I mentioned before, I'm a student too. I searched all over the net to find a forum that was active and was suitable for me and I just couldn't find one so I thought that I would start one of my own. My main objective was to create a group of beginners, advanced beginners and intermediate students of the language and get something going that was active and progressive.
I think my first attempt was a little too much. As it evolved, I began to realize that I needed to put together a program that was self-paced, interactive, fun as well as educational. I could study on my own, but that's no fun at all! I like the interaction between friends and like-minded individuals.
I'm really looking forward to the photo/caption thread as I will get to see pictures of friends and places and it will give us a little practice along the way.
Anyway, enough of my rambling.

Go raibh maith agaibh mo chairde!

I just discover at the library a book about irish alphabet... (made in New York) It called Ogham. In fact the language of the Celt !!! beofre St Patrick came and introduce the latin alphabet that will create this Gaeilge that we like so much
here. It clearly stated in the book each letter consonnant and voyels is represented by a mark on a horizontal line grave in stone. We read it from bottom to top. Special hey ! just like the asian they used a set of symbol to write !

I will respond to those two discussion for sure this week end I think it two fun way of learning.

Iniu Maith this new group is maith sin :)

Well... We only learn from our mistakes, isn't it? I'm very thankful for the return of the group. I believe this new structure will be more productive for us. As soon as I get home, I'll go for another drill on Quizlet.
Thanks one more time, mates. Let's work!

OK, were going to try this again. I thing I would like to start by asking for your ideas on how to become an interactive group. I don't want to become one of those groups where people join and not participate so lets have your ideas on how to make this fun and educational.
I do think that we should stick to the Blas program and use Quizlet as a way to practice. The drills are important!
If you sign up for the group, you should also sign up on Quizlet as this is where I will put up the practice lessons.
So, what do you think?
