There a beautifull article about the hill of tara in this issue of Ireland of the Welcomes .

Here some of what the author say '' the hill of Tara is perhaps the most potent symbol of ireland mystical past. The tara site as been included in a list of must-see endangered sites by the smithsonian institute, one of America's most prestigious museums. Nominated as a UNESCO World heritage site being equated with the church of the nativity in Bethlehem '' ireland of the Welcomes..july august 2009. harmonia.
The Hill of Tara is the symbolic and sacred center of all Ireland since the dawn of this country, We must preserve both Tara and New grange.

From what I've read, Dublin is in need of the road. However, I quite agree with you. The best view I've seen does seem to bi-sect three contigeous rath sites, this should be avoided, if Tara is not already an Irish National Park, it really should be.
