Absolutely, especially with the NY governor position scenario when vacated by Hillary Clinton. I think family Clan politics is best left to the past at this stage though.

I am glad his light has gone out. I hate to rail on the dead but his lack of accountability for the death of Mary Joe Kopechne was solely because of what family he came from. His political rhetoric reminded me of Lenin's who claimed to be for the common man while using them for fodder. I say good ridance to him.

I think the Kennedy Clan through the generations has proven what their politics were really about. Politically speaking they were genuis but there is more to the stories left unspoken as Chris expresses in his post. Seems the Mary Joe Kopechne case just got swept away as if to say, "let's just move on now" I appreciate Chris reminding us of that unfortuanate and very covered up incident. What looks good on the outside may hide the truth for a time, but isn't it a strange truth how we always somehow know the truth? I think when too many things are left unsaid, it actually tells its own story such as this one. I am not suggesting he killed the girl just because she was with him that night, but something came unravelled and Ted was not talking much.

Not to mention that in later years he joked about Chappaquidick. What amazes me is that it will / would always be a joke at Mary Joes expence which is extremely crass at best and tells me where his heart really was on the matter. Like I say... good ridance.
