Song

by Thomas Moore
the greatest Irish lyrist
born Dublin, 1779 - died 1852
Have you not seen the timid tear
Steal trembling from mine eye?
Have you not mark'd the flush of fear,
Or caught the murmur'd sigh?
And can you think my love is chill,
Nor fix'd on you alone?
And can you rend, by doubting still,
A heart so much your own?

To you my soul's affections move
Devoutly, warmly, true:
My life has been a task of love,
One long, long thought of you.
If all your tender faith is o'er,
If still my truth you'll try;
Alas! I know but one proof more -
I'll bless your name, and die!

Bailey will never be gone. He waits for you in Heaven, well and perfect and as energized by unconditional love as he was while here.

Kubana, for those who say that dogs do not have souls, I say -- never try to limit the love of Love itself -- God -- for what pleases His children pleases Him and it is not part of God's theology that He can't put our canine friends in Heaven.

HEAVEN'S DOGGY-DOOR

My best friend closed his eyes last
night, As his head was in my hand.
The Doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.

The thoughts that scurried through
my head, As I cradled him in my arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And OH...his many charms.

Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense "I love you gaze",
Only a heart thats filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled days.

But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, "You should cry no more,
GOD also loves our canine friends,
HE's installed a 'doggy-door"!

Dia dhuit a Lady Dianne,
Within ourself there is love,
Sometimes hard to swow,
Feelings so grand we have,
For life and thing we cherish love.

Butch inside you,and know inside us
Because of sharing between friends,
So grand frienship is together.....

Thank for sharing all Lady Dianne,
Your soul is pure..................................

BELONGING

As I was whaiting for the ferry,on a foggy monday morning
At Holyhead to cross the Irish Sea to Dun laoghaire,
Urge of home was so cheery
Could`nt stop reminding me of Grand-Ma.

Grand-Ma was the fearlest type,bulky
Fought her life away, she was proud and witty,
To tend farm tidy,as she told many,
Tending better then him.

She was supposed to be tender and soft-touched,
Surely did not fit any frame of mine, said Ma
Hard going ,fought rightheousness.

Had medecine in her blood like me
Could cure a horse with her mind..!!
Could heal wounds, and take away pain,
Persuaded and inventive, had a wide heart.

Cause she felt for life,Th`was`nt the silent type
With her fits and voice ,she ruled the house,
Hard working,loved her kitchen,grumbling...!!

Planted a few crosses over lintel in the kitchen and byre
With dresser full of precious things forgotten along the wall,
Curtained bed in a corner, fiddle resting on a shelf
Shotgun bending underneath.

Kitchen was a shrine of pots, pans and keddles
Spoons hanging beside the fireplace, black and dark,
Where the crock-pot aside swung
Wooden stools stood,
Churns, washing board,and meal bins
Busy and bustled around.

Yearning of Ceilidh after milking time
Barking of dogs,and shadows passing
The window annonce,
Knocking,habit of dropping in,
No big riddles needed,everyone anticipated.

As she stood at half-door,th`was the good life
In countryside Tyrone,
She had been a great Irish Colleen my Grand -Ma,
Part of Ireland, part of me she`ll ever be.

From me to you all my friends....................................

Dearest Katty

I heard of her ounce
Because of Paddy working with me,
He showed her to me
As she was entering into our smelly tavern
Where dreams are made,
Wearing a dark cloak, resting on her shoulders.

Her face white as winter snow
And cheek nicer than a soft red rose,
Her long black hair glaring like silk
Eyes sharp as lights,
With a smile that cut a heart in two.

I stopped breathing
And frozed staring,
T`was the most beautyfull sight ever seen
Like a flower of July in a summer field,
She mumbled,wispering.

With a soft and mellow voice
I knew we where meant to be,
Had a dwelling near Galway Bay,
Was`nt near where I stayed
But won my heart away.

I dreamt she had to stay
So precious to my mind and soul always,
Sadely had to go away
To make life better, astrayed
Knew I would be back one soon day,
To take my Katty away to Americay
Where there`s a place call Newfoundland.
